CRL Sunshades and Glass Railings Increase Energy Efficiency and Enhance Façade of Luxury Resort

The $350 million dollar transformation of Agua Caliente Casino into a luxury resort is the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians’ second expansion since 2004, and includes a new hotel tower housing 340 generously-appointed guestrooms and an extensive new gaming floor.

CRL custom manufactured a variety of sunshades in Sky White powder coat finish for this extensive project and worked with the glass contractor, The Glass Factory, to turn the concept from design to reality. The sunshades project from two to seven feet, and were installed over the entrance and all around the building, including the penthouse. As an architectural element, the Sunshade Systems provide a stunning look to the building, while effectively filtering the sunlight and heat.

The exterior is also dramatically enhanced by a series of curved balconies on all sides. For this the contractor chose CRL's 300 Series Aluminum Glass Railing System with 3/8" tempered glass. A segmented system was used, finished in CRL's standard "Sky White" powder coated finish.

CRL manufactures a wide array of custom aluminum sunshades in many sizes and finishes. Blade options include airfoils, flat bars, Z-blades, round tubes, rectangular tubes, and square tubes. Perforated infill panels in a variety of standard and custom designs are also an option. Finishes include eight standard powder paint colors and 250 RAL or NEWLAR® color powder paints. Anodizing and KYNAR® custom paints are also available. Each system is built to specifications in CRL's Los Angeles manufacturing facility. Their engineers work with customers to help create an elegant and functional sunshade system that will richly complement the design of any building.
